Police Looking for Man Accused of Abducting, Assaulting Teen

DAYTON -- Dayton police are looking for a man they say abducted a 15-year-old girl from her east side neighborhood and forced her to ride with him across town, where he tried to make her perform a sex act.

The girl refused, so the suspect punched her repeatedly. She was able to get away and flag down a passerby who took her to safety.

Residents in the North Findlay neighborhood where the crime happened blame a serious drug and prostitution problem for attracting a lot of men who are up to no good.  Emma Russell says she is fed up with all the issues on her street. She has five daughters and says she doesn't know what she would do if someone tried to hurt one of her girls. She says the suspect needs to be put away for a long time.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6' to 6'2 with a stocky build, trimmed mustache and crooked teeth.  If you know who he is, call 333-COPS.

Earlier Coverage:

DAYTON -- Police say they are looking for a man who is accused of abducting and assaulting a teenaged girl on the morning of July 10.

According to Dayton police, the 15-year-old girl was walking north on North Findlay Street when the suspect took the victim to his car, parked on Philadelphia Street, and forced her into the passenger side front seat.

Police say he drove them to a location in the area of Catalpa/Riverview, where he demanded the girl perform a sex act, and when she refused, officers say he assaulted her.

The girl struggled and broke free from the suspect, fled the car and flagged down the driver of a passing car, who picked her up and took her to safety.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40s, with short, wave-styled hair, yellowing, crooked teeth with a gap. He is about 6-foot to 6-foot-2 and of stocky build, according to the girl.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect responsible for an abduction and attempted rape at North Findlay Street and East Second Street, Dayton, on July 11 between 10 and 11 a.m.
