UPDATE: Riverside Firefighter Blamed for Crash
HUBER HEIGHTS -- We have now learned that the driver of a Riverside fire truck is being blamed for a Monday morning crash on Brandt Pike.
The road was closed since the crash happened about 5:30 a.m., but has since reopened.
According to Huber Heights police, four people were inside the fire truck as it was making a left turn into Thomas cloud Memorial Park. The fire truck's driver reportedly cut off a pickup truck, hitting it head-on.
We have learned that 30-year-old Andrea Lilly was driving the pickup truck. ABC 22/FOX 45 Reporter Amber Watson spoke to her father and he tells us this accident should have never happened.
"She said she was coming down the road and the truck turned in front of her. There were no sirens and no lights," said Bernie Thies.
The driver in the pickup and a firefighter in the passenger side of the fire truck were both taken to the hospital. Their conditions are still unknown, but Lilly's father tells us she is expected to survive.
Huber Heights police say the driver of the Riverside fire truck has been cited for failure to yield.
We're told that driver will be given a drug test.
