UPDATE: Carjacking with Children in Vehicle

UPDATE: DAYTON-- 4 suspects are in police custody after an armed car-jacking on Salem Avenue. Two young children were in the back seat when the car was stolen.

The children were dumped along side the road by the car-jackers and were found by the victim's sister.

Kanitha Wood made a relieved  phone call to police to tell them her niece and nephew were alive and well after  they were  kidnapped during an  armed carjacking.
"I'm so glad they are okay." She told the 911 dispatcher.

The two children ages 2 and 7 were in the back seat of a car  when the car was stolen at the BP on Salem Avenue around 7 o'clock Tuesday night.

The robbers dumped the kids off not far from the gas station  and  the  victim's sister  found them outside in the cold a little while later.
ABC 22/ FOX 45 obtained the 911 call.

Dispatcher: "Where'd you get the kids from?"
Victim's sister: "They were at Lexington and Bryn Mawr.
I was just looking and I saw them standing outside on the sidewalk
and I recognized them and I picked them up."

Police said Isaiah Wood,  the childrens' father left the car running  when he went inside the store at the BP.  The car jackers and took off with his Pontiac Grand Prix.

Wood went running after his car  when  he realized  his car was stolen and had to dodge gunfire from the robbers.

"The suspect did  fire one shot at the victim,  a warning shot just to scare him away." Dayton Police Lt. Matt Dickey said.

Officers chased the stolen car  but they got away, until early  Wednesday morning when the pursuit  picked back up.
The thieves  ditched the Grand Prix and were in another stolen car when they crashed on Washington Street and ran.

Police captured all 4 suspects, who are all  teenagers.  Police said two suspects  are age  17, and  the other  two  are age 18.

Police  aren't releasing any names at this time .
