UPDATE: Carjacking with Children in Vehicle
UPDATE: DAYTON-- 4 suspects are in police custody after an armed car-jacking on Salem Avenue. Two young children were in the back seat when the car was stolen.
The children were dumped along side the road by the car-jackers and were found by the victim's sister.
Kanitha Wood made a relieved phone call to police to tell them her niece and nephew were alive and well after they were kidnapped during an armed carjacking.
"I'm so glad they are okay." She told the 911 dispatcher.
The two children ages 2 and 7 were in the back seat of a car when the car was stolen at the BP on Salem Avenue around 7 o'clock Tuesday night.
The robbers dumped the kids off not far from the gas station and the victim's sister found them outside in the cold a little while later.
ABC 22/ FOX 45 obtained the 911 call.
Dispatcher: "Where'd you get the kids from?"
Victim's sister: "They were at Lexington and Bryn Mawr.
I was just looking and I saw them standing outside on the sidewalk
and I recognized them and I picked them up."
Police said Isaiah Wood, the childrens' father left the car running when he went inside the store at the BP. The car jackers and took off with his Pontiac Grand Prix.
Wood went running after his car when he realized his car was stolen and had to dodge gunfire from the robbers.
"The suspect did fire one shot at the victim, a warning shot just to scare him away." Dayton Police Lt. Matt Dickey said.
Officers chased the stolen car but they got away, until early Wednesday morning when the pursuit picked back up.
The thieves ditched the Grand Prix and were in another stolen car when they crashed on Washington Street and ran.
Police captured all 4 suspects, who are all teenagers. Police said two suspects are age 17, and the other two are age 18.
Police aren't releasing any names at this time .
DAYTON -- Police have caught three suspects in an armed carjacking.
Officers were called to a suspicious vehicle spotted parked behind a building on West Grand Avenue.
When crews arrived the guys in the car drove away, crashing it on Mound Street. The three suspects tried to run but were caught.
This all started Tuesday night when a man was filling up at the BP on Salem Avenue. When he went inside to pay, he left his car running with his 2 and 7 year old inside.
That is when the three men jumped in and took off. When the dad came out, the thieves fired a shot at him.
Fortunately, the kids were not hurt.

DAYTON -- Police are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred at a BP gas station on Salem Avenue around 7pm.
Officials say a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old were inside the vehicle at the time. The children were dropped about four blocks away from the gas station on Lexington Avenue a short time later.
According to police, three suspects approached the vehicle. One suspect fired a shot as the father was returning to his car after paying for gas.
The vehicle has been described as a bronze-colored 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix with the license plate EUA 1487. Police are still searching for the vehicle.
Police believe the car was last seen heading down Broadway into Trotwood.
