UPDATE: Mother Accused of OVI with Two Kids in the Car
BEAVERCREEK -- A mother was arrested for driving drunk with her two young children in the car, according to Beavercreek Police.
Police released dash cam video of RachelTipps-Hall being pulled over by officers.
Police got a tip of her erratic driving and said said she was driving drunk at 9 in the morning with her daughter, 6, and son 4, in the back seat.
"What is important here, the children are safe," Beavercreek Police Capt. Jeff Fiorita said. "We are just thankful this citizen called in and gave us a heads up. We may of not spotted her, she could have easily crashed. It's hard to tell," he added.
Tipps-Hall was given a field sobriety test, and then a breathalyzer and she reportedly blew a BAC of .314.
"That is almost four times the legal limit," Fiorita said.
Tipps-Hall was handcuffed and taken to jail, wearing a T-shirt that said "Don't blame me, I'm having a blonde moment."
Just before her arrest, she was spotted by another driver who told police she hit a mailbox on Kemp Road, police said.
The homeowner on Kemp is thankful his mailbox was the only casualty.
"She could've killed herself and the kids. I'm glad that nothing worse has happened," the homeowner said.
Tipps- Hall's father came out and took custody of her children.
She is facing several charges, including OVI, child endangering, hit skip, and failure to control her car.
BEAVERCREEK -- A mother is in jail after police say she was driving under the influence with her two children in the car.
Police were looking for a car that hit a mailbox on Kemp Road and kept driving, when an officer spotted Rachel Tipps-Hall's vehicle. It matched the description of the car in the hit and run. The officer started following and said Tipps-Hall was driving erratically and at one point nearly drove off the road.
The officer pulled her over and found her two children, 4 and 6 years old, in the car. He said Tipps-Hall was nearly incoherent. She reportedly tested at .314 blood-alcohol content.
Tipps-Hall, 31, of 2384 Banyon Road, Beavercreek, is charged with child endangering, OVI, hit-skip and failure to control. She was taken to the Greene County Jail, where she remains on a $7,500 bond.
Greene County Children's Services was contacted about her children who are currently under the care of family members.
