Question of the Day
Do you agree with the new rules for tattoos and piercings?
Comment: It is a good idea.. Especially the infection & disease plan. from hamilton, ohio by lynn
Comment: Parental rights doesn't always mean they have best interest in the child or themselves. from Sidney Ohio by Carolyn
Comment: I don't agree because it should be peoples rights to choose how they want their body to look with piercings and tattoos and nowadays people are piercing everything and its their right ..plus buissness might go down a bit if tattoo people can't also their gona be more problems people will try to pierce their self's then from dayton, ohio by chrissy
Comment: What matter is it of your to tell the parent what his or her child can pierce. They have taken enough rights from people. It time to stop infringing on people right. Mind your own business from Thompson by Hazel
Comment: I absolutely agree with the new rules! Kids shouldn't be allowed to make these decisions until they are 18 anyway. As for the new disease and infection regulations go this is far too long in coming. However, these new rules aren't going to stop the backyard tattoo artists and they are beginning to far outnumber the ones that are regulated! from Dayton, OH by Holly
Comment: Body modifications last a lifetime, even with peircings, scaring can happen, and teens don't like to think about what can happen to their bodies if things go wrong. Some decisions really need to wait until you're 18. from Waynesville by Brittany
Comment: The one getting the piercing or tattoo should be able to get it where ever they want when they want (with parent approval) and be able to get what ever kind of tattoo or piercing and how many they want. There are jobs that won't let you have certain piercings or want little to no tattoos at all but since when has a tattoo or piercing determined our education or how well we do on that job? I could be completly covered in tattoos and have ear rings or gauges and be better or have more experience than most to all others in the job that I put an application in fore but due to MY discussion of wanting tattoos they more than likely will not hire me..basically there should be less strict rules on tattoos and piercings from Dayton,Ohio by Will
Comment: I personally think that a good tattoo shop would be using these "rules" anyways. It's more so common sense... from Eaton ohio by Dakota Morris
Comment: I agree with the infection contorl plan but I disagree with the minors only being able to get certain areas pierced. I think when parent conscent then it should be legal. from Lakeview, ohio by cheyenna
Comment: I think if you want something pierced you should have the choice to do it. And if a parent says yes their kid can get a piercing or tattoo, it should be their choice. Maybe a tattoo is for someone who died or someone fighting some kind of disease like cancer. from Dayton Ohio by Missy
Comment: Piercing guns are not healthy, make it easier for pierced areas to become infected, and most who use them are not trained. If it were my decision, I would ban piercing guns altogether. by Shelby
Comment: More money for State hugh. They will make all there rules to benfit there pockets . They are protecting no one but selfs from Bradford Ohio by Patty
Comment: It's smart, it keeps things sanitary & safe. from Denver, Colorado by Michelle
Comment: Professional shops already take action in contamination control. They take blood born pathogens training and get a certification. However getting the certificate itself is rather easy. From Experience my boss has had to tell the health inspector what to look for and what precautions should be in affect at a shop or parlor. I personally think that since anybody can throw together a shop and and call themselves "professionals" cities should regulate and possibly just like a liquor license, there should be some kind of approval to be able to open up a shop. When it comes to getting certified, hair dressers have to renew their license every 2 years. If we had more regulation making it harder for just any one to tattoo, it could control diseases, keep minors from getting tattoos from out of their friends' house, and over all the quality of tattoos may rise amongst the public because anyone who is serious about their career and artwork will meet the standards and requirements with out any hesitation. from Dayton Ohio by Cortney
Comment: I don't think these changes are enough. I believe there should be a law to govern the quality of every tattoo artist work. There are just too many unskilled artist putting out bad tattoos. from Tipp City by Shawn
Comment: I agree with the disease prevention program however I don't think the state should have the authority to determine where the piercing gun is used or to supersede parents authority over their own children. from Cincinnati, OH by Nick
Comment: Not the piercing part. from wc oh by Ronelle
Comment: I think that's the dumbest thing ever changing the thing especially for piercings. It is so stupid. In today's society, there are so many teenagers that want to get piercings done. I'm sorry but that is rediculous. Plus , teenagers are going to eventually do it on their own and they can die and get diseases doing that. So seriously, think about it. Would you rather have it done professionally to a minor or have that minor end up with a nasty disease and possibly dead? from Urbana Ohio by Jade
Comment: We should be able to do what ever we want to our bodies we are the WWE ones who have to live with it not you. from miamisburg ohio by monique
Comment: People should be able to do what they want with their bodies no matter what even with parents approval. from Kettering/ Oh by Mikayla
Comment: I think they should make it illegal to tattoo out of your house, or garage also. If they haven't already! from Piqua, OHs by Katie
