Question of the Day
Does the violence on the UD campus tarnish the good publicity Dayton is getting right now?
|52.94%||YES, it does|
|47.05%||NO, it doesn't|
Comment: Absolutely it tarnishes what they have accomplished! You can be happy for your team and show/demonstrate your happiness in many many other ways than doing something that is illegal/violent and destruction of property. That is just complete dis-respect and has nothing to do with what the UD team has accomplished! I hated to see two Ohio teams play each other so early in the bracket but putting that aside...CONGRATULATIONS University of Dayton of making the elite eight!!! Keep up the good work!!! from New Paris, Ohio by Kim
Comment: no, but why act like an a$$, we won, we should be able to celebrate without making trouble :) from dayton/ohio by cheryl
Comment: Because I believe some/most of the people arrested probably were not UD students. from Dayton, OH by Roberta
Comment: Years ago this same thing would have happened, but the police would not have exacerbated it by wearing riot gear and the news channels would not have sensationalized it with surveys like this. from Greenville, OH by Ryan
Comment: If you stand for the team, carry more pride in your behavior. Celebrations that out of hand are irresponsible and tarnish all the boys hard work. from Kettering, OH by Dawn
Comment: It does effect the way UD looks! It's one thing to celebrate, but to the point that it becomes rioting???? That is uncalled for & immature!! It reflects on your school for sure!! 28 arrests??? Bad choices for sure!! Now you have a record! from Dayton, OH by Darlene
Comment: This is pretty much the scene at every college campus after a huge win. Plus the police are usually the ones who antagonize the situation. I remember my friends at Purdue getting hit by tear gas after a win. They weren't even part of the crowd. They were actually walking home from an evening church service when they got hit. from Cedar Rapids/IA by Courtney
Comment: In the grand scheme of things, it's become more and more an expected reaction to big victories. As far as image, let's ask the president of UD what he thinks about it, after he's done bodysurfing. from West Milton OH by Chris
Comment: Why can't they celebrate peacefully? from New lebanon,ohio by Ryan
