Question of the Day

Do you think the first lady's plan will help reduce childhood obesity?

13.63% YES
86.36% NO

Comment: I think healthy eating should start and end at home. If you teach your child to make the right choices they will pick an apple over chips. Plus it is not the governments place to tell us what we can fed our children. from xenia, ohio by christa

Comment: If anything it will cause more kids NOT to eat at school then chow down at home with whatever is available from Englewood, OH by Dennis

Comment: It will put some more people out of work. from Arcanum, Ohio by Jim

Comment: The States should be determining what is served in their schools. Michelle has not clue as to why kids are obese or she would have their video games and cell phones banned. When she bans junk food bought with food stamps she can determine what is sold to our school kids. from So. Charleston, Ohio by Dian

Comment: I think that the food stamp system should be set up to where the receiver can only buy from a list of approved foods. All the options would be healthy options instead of sitting aside a certain amount of money they can spend a month on food. by Kim

Comment: Who cares what she thinks. She is the last person that be running off at the mouth. If she wants to do something to help she can just keep her pie hole shut. Like she has any room to talk. Why don't we ban stupidity while where at it we can start with her.She is nothing but a hateful person! from America by Silence Dogood

Comment: Where in the Constitution is the First Lady granted policy making authority? If Michelle Obama proceeds to interfere with the operation of government, then her and her husband should be tried, impeached, convicted, and sent to prison for life. from Kettering by Tim

Comment: because the parents will still get itfor them from dayton/ohio by cheryl

Comment: Actually, I am curious what the two fat women you featured in your interviews know about healthy choices? Obviously, nothing. How about they worry about making their own healthy choices first before advising others? from Dayton, Ohio by Frank

Comment: With that big, fat, rear-end of hers, what does she know about healthy choices? How about she demonstrate she can make good choices herself before advising others on how to make theirs? from Englewood, OH by Sylvester

Comment: There is no advertising or marketing of food in schools. What is she, the First Lady, talking about! Her earlier ban of high calorie food is really hurting high school athletes. Athletes need calories to keep up with their schedule of practice and/or games. But, once again, as long as you are not dependant on the government for food, free lunch, you can bring your own food and get the nutrition you need. from Ohio by Anne

Comment: Advertising works, we want what we see.. Eliminating unhealthy food advertisements and giving more nutritious choices is the way to go from Chattanooga, TN by William

Comment: good food cost moor from springfield by jro

Comment: I say keep your busy body nose out of our house! from New Lebanon OH by Nancy

Comment: I don't think it will.... if they are able to go of campus and that's what they crave they'll get it anyways. .... the problem healthy food for young or old is expensive and most tastes gross. ..... but most people old or young don't have a stay diet of junk food. .... also it's cheaper and quicker for you to go to fast food and it'd be nice to get a large water cheap. .... but because of all this health stuff kids parties at schools are getting more strict it's sad from eureka ca by Amy

Comment: Maybe somewhat. But as long as fast foods and convenient foods are feed to our children at home as part of their daily diet, and a sedentary lifestyle I don't see much change in the obesity issues. from Arcanum Ohio by Terri
