Should the state extend schools' calamity days or should the missed days be made up in the summer?

Comment: I feel with how this winter has been the state should extend schools' calamity days for this school you, many school officials are putting kids in danger on these below zero days by having school due to no more calamity days available, some kids have to walk for 10-15 minutes to get to bus stops in certain cities and you can get frostbite within 10 minutes. Comment: For those of us in year round districts I think allowing the extra days make sense. We already start our school year the second week of July. Not all winters are going to be the same. This winter has been extreme to say the least. Snow days are not being abused but being utilized to protect our children. Comment: Making up the days would effect many who seek summer work and add additional costs to schools already financially burdened. Why make days in June after the Ohio testing?
