Question of the Day
Do you think communities should reschedule their Beggar's Night because of the weather?
Comment: I think they should! They know the weather for Thursday night! And they know the weather for Friday night is 100% better! And in my case living in Huber Heights..the Waybe Northmont game is also Thursday night which means less people passing out candy and traffic around the school is a horrible idea for the little trick or treaters! from Huber Heights Ohio by Kara
Comment: It's crazy that cities/towns aren't rescheduling yet! If they won't then I think that the communities should do it themselves! Share with neighbors friends and family and let them know well all pass it out Friday night instead. from Hamilton,Ohio by Kara
Comment: Pick the day before or after. It doesn't matter. It's still trick or treat. from Franklin, Ohio. by Sonya

Comment: How dare they not take our kids safety into account. from kettering ohio by evelyn
Comment: Yes!! There is potential for severe weather & high winds which will make it almost impossible for this to go on as scheduled. Little children look forward to this day- so why not, especially for their safety. from Kettering, Ohio by Amy
Comment: Reasons: Chill + Wet = Cold or Flu Slick roads = danger Rain + Storms = danger, unhappy parents, wet kids & chaos Straight line winds = Duh cancel and reschedule from Cinti Ohio by Wgoss
Comment: Whats the point if its going to be very rainy and dangerous? either reschedule or cancel it from Miamisburg, OH by Cheryl
Comment: Come on it's about the kids. They are not going to have funny dressed up in heavy raid and high winds.. Lets do it on fri or sat from Moraine, Ohio by Kerk
Comment: If they have common sense they would. What if a tree limb would break and hit a child?? from Xenia, Ohio by Sandra
Comment: Many other communities are pushing theirs to Friday or Saturday, targeting more favorable weather. Probably too late for our area. from Tipp city, OH by Tony
Comment: it would be great for Dayton ,but I think its to late from Dayton Ohio by Toni
Comment: Why have them go out in the rain and all get sick when its not a big dael to reschedule from Huber heights by Pamela roop
Comment: Why not change it to the next day and have a more enjoyable time... Isn't that what it's about.. Not like anybody can afford to take their children or themselves to the doctor... from Huber Heights Ohio by Stephanie Pratt
Comment: It is more dangerous when it is cold and rainy from Centerville Ohio by Jean
Comment: Weather should be really bad here like to sit outside to see costumes from russells point, ohio by diane

Comment: High winds & just bad weather all together doesn't seem worth it to me if a child gets hurt. from Ohio by Holly
Comment: No one can enjoy taking children out in weather that has gusty winds and downpouring rain. Think of it as a school snow day. And who would go out in that? from Englewood OH by Carol
Comment: Why wouldn't you reschedule would be a better question. Piqua acknowledges low 60's and raining but keeping schedule... The kids will really enjoy this. not from Piqua, Ohio by Dwayne
Comment: If you have a choice between changing the date to make it more enjoyable for the kids, and it doesn't change the meaning (like Christmas), then why wouldn't you change it? There will be a lot of disappointed kids in the neighborhoods, I'm afraid. Comment: It is what it is. Make the most of it. Back in the day it was a privilige and you wern't catered to. We wouldn't change Christmas if it was 90 degrees. from Miamisburg, OH by Scott
Comment: There is no practical way to communicate a postponement, either to the homeowners or parents. Remember that some participants will travel from neighboring communities for a "hot" street. The concept of delaying into November is unpleasant. from Franklin by Dave
Comment: I have never understood what the big deal is. Parents do not want their kids to eat sugary food and many families end up throwing the candy away or sharing it with co-workers who do not want or need it either. What a waste of money, time, and effort. from Centerville by Sue
Comment: I think it is strange, silky and sad that city governments have anything to say about this. ohio is the only one of the many states I have lived in where that happens. Everywhere else you just trick or treat on Oct 31 during what ever hours you want to from Tipp City Ohio by Doug
