Question of the Day
Should the Ohio middle school remove the portrait of Jesus?
| 16.66% | YES | |
| 83.33% | NO |
Comment: ABSOLUTELY NOT!! We need to put God and Jesus back in to our schools! from Bellbrook, OH by C.
Comment: Nope! I think there is nothing wrong with having Jesus' portrait in a school. It's been there for a long time. from Dayton, OH by Anna
Comment: IF ITS BEEN THERE THAT LONG LEAVE IT ALONE. IM TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT FREEDOM OF NON RELIGION GROUPS. WHAT ABOUT THE FREEDOM OF RELIGION GROUPS. WHERES THIER SAY. from DAYTON OH by SANDY
Comment: NO this stuff is way out of hand.If you don't like don't look at it.Plus the fact that I'm tired of you can't say this you can't say that you might hurt somebodies feelings.Well I say cry me river of tears life not fair get over yourself you're not as important as you think you are from Dayton by Not PoliticallyCorrect
Comment: The ACLU should be removed, not the picture. from Fairborn, Oh. by Jim
Comment: Too many people are forcing their politically incorrect views down on the rest of us. ACLU needs to mind their own business. ACLU is taking all of our rights way in our country. from Ohio by Shawn
Comment: No I think it should stay Put right where it is We have to get God Back in our Schools from Fairborn Ohio by Eugene
Comment: KUDOS to the school district for having the backbone to stand up to the ACLU. I wish the intolerant non believers would just leave things like this alone. What is that portrait hurting? Absolutely nothing... the ACLU just wants to show their "power" by bullying Christians, as usual. It's time people start taking a stand against this kind of nonsense! I don't believe in Santa or the Easter Bunny... but I certainly do NOT complain when I see it. Why are some ppl so afraid of God? from Piqua, Ohio by Kelly
Comment: A lot of our problems in America today are because too many people are trying to keep God out! What's our Nation coming to?! from Huber Heights, OH by Marti
Comment: Freedom of religion includes the right to demonstrate your beliefs. We teach about various religions and Christianity is/or should be taught. By displaying Jesus picture simply supports whatbchristianity is all about. ONE NATION UNDER GOD, that's what makes this country great. from Springfield by Tom
Comment: Absoultley not. I'm a vetran and I fought for the right for those who want to remove the picture and those that don't want the Pledge of Alligence banned from schools. from Greenville,Ohio by Terry
Comment: This picture of Jesus is privatae property and therefore should be left alone!! from Centerville, Ohio by Jerry
Comment: Get real!! This nation was founded on the principles of the man whose face is on that pictures Father. I do not care who says otherwise! This nation is still "One Nation under God". The Father of the man whose face is on that picture!! from Dayton, Ohio by Dorothy
Comment: It's infringing on their 1st amendment rights by having them taking it down. Let them keep it up. If someone doesn't like it don't look at it. Stop making a big deal about something like this. Grow up and let people be free. from Piqua/Ohio by Quinton
Comment: Every school should have one! from Centerville by Dave
Comment: How do they know what Jesus looked like? Were they there? What makes a picture of a person promote a religion? This is just political police gone astray. from Tipp City by Ken
Comment: YES leave it up, In God We Trust, if it offends other religions let them go to another school or don't look at it, we are a nation of CHRISTIANS from 45424 by Rob B.
Comment: we should have any way to express the art we draw. by morgan
Comment: All schools should have a portrait of jesus just like when we were raised. The world cannot see that the bible says this will happen? The govt and states should not regulate our religious beliefs , we all grew up knowing jesus in our homes and schools. from dayton, ohio by carl
Comment: I think the picture should stay up. It really is getting ridiculous how far people will go. Its just a picture, Its not like it says "Believe in me" This country was built upon religious freedom. If another group wants to put up a picture then let them. from Bellefontaine, OH by Ashley
Comment: Jesus is a great role model for everyone, students definitely. from Centerville, OH by Cindy
Comment: put the lord in the school take satin out. from rusells point /ohio by kim
Comment: The ACLU's law suit is in direct violation of the student's First Amendment Rights. I find it extremely ironic how the ACLU claims to protect the civil liberties of the people and yet files law suits to rob some of their civil liberties. I guess they are only tolerant of those that agree with their beliefs and agenda. Time for the ACLU to go. from Bellbrook, OH by Greg
Comment: Maybe if we stop taking jesus out of schools peoplevmight quit shooting schools up from springfield ohio by jon
Comment: the decision remains with this community. it is that simple! the separation clause within the 1st Am is directed toward the actions of the ACLU (who is acting like a bully on a playground.) if the picture is a "violation" then the rental agreement between St Vincents DePaul and MCJFS for the property at 1111 S Edwin C Moses Blvd is a violation. The question remains what is the REAL motive for the ACLU in aggressively pursuing such a matter? the ACLU is obviously testing the waters for another evasive assault on protected liberties as oppose to protecting them. from dayton, oh by susan
Comment: Praise God for the Hi-Y club who originally placed the Jesus Portrait there...they obviously understood the need for Jesus. Reading and watching all the news is clearly evidence of our need for a Savior. "It's clear enough to me The ugliness I see Is evidence of who I need" -Needtobreathe from Dayton, OH by Kraig
Comment: this is no-brainer and not a question 2 B decided by the Court. here is where the school district would [insert] motion for summary judgment. the ACLU is obviously testing the waters for another assault on protected liberties as opposed to actually doing what they say they are doing (protecting liberties.) from ohio by patricia
Comment: it is time to move on and stop giving the ACLU free airtime. from ohio by stacey
Comment: all the violence is the result of god being removed from daily life. from waynesboro oh by frank
Comment: That is one of the biggest problems in our school that we have taken Jesus and prayer out of them. from Springfield OH by Sarah
Comment: Absolutely not! It has been there for these many years with no problems; why is it any different now. If more schools had portraits of Jesus maybe there wouldn't be the horrors that we're seeing in our schools now. from Middletown, OH by Marvin
