Question of the Day
Do you think all hospital employees should be required to get flu shots?
| 25% | Yes | |
| 75% | No |
Comment: A hospital, like any other business, has conditions of employment. If one of their conditions of employment is "all employees must get a flu shot", they either get the shot or they have violated the terms of employment and are then subject to action. One only needs to read about "Typhoid Mary" to understand how illnesses are spread. Having said that, does it justify another erosion of personal liberty? Then again, no one is forcing them to work at the hospital, so they do have a conscious decision. Complicated issue - but the prime focus should be the public's health. from New Carlisle, Oh by Al
Comment: Always! They're around sick people all the time. Do they realy want to bring something home to their families? from trotwood by Caroline
Comment: No, I don't believe it should be mandatory, but as a nurse locally, I was required to receive the vaccine by my employer as well. There were variances given to those who got a waiver from their physician, so if someone was truly against receiving the vaccine or unable to take it for medical reasons, there were ways around it. from Troy, Ohio by Melissa
Comment: i don't feel hospital any employees should be required to get the shots. we don't know exactly what they are injecting into us. why are they free everywhere? with the chemtrails, gmo's, and pollution of atmosphere and hydrosphere. vaccines are another attempt at population reduction. meat and dairy consumption is the culprit behind sickness from dayton by john
Comment: Just as a patient in the hospital has the right to refuse the flu shot an employee has the right to refuse. How can anyone mandate what you put in your body. They have crossed the line. from Centerville, Ohio by Kevin
Comment: I hear that the multi-dose vaccine contains mercury. I would not get it unless there was a national epidemic of some sort. from Springfield, OH by Eileen
Comment: An individual should have total say so as to what medications they have put or injected into their bodies. There are far too many side effects to medicines for it to be left up to someone other than yourself. I take vitamins only! In 2012 the only medicine put in my body was the FLU SHOT because I was informed that I would get FIRED if I didnt ! It should be MY Right to choose what goes into my body not my employer, doctor,or anyone else should have a say so in the matter. Sincerly, A HEALTH CARE WORKER from Kettering OH by Lynn
Comment: putting a drug of any kind in your body is a personal choice this kind of controlling behavior from businesses and our goverment has got to stop my grandfather almost died from a allergic reaction to one of these shots!!spent 2 months in hospital from miamisburg by matt
Comment: it should be ones own decision, especially if the employee does not call off often for illness from vandalia, oh by pamela
Comment: absolutely not!!! what if someone was forced to take a shot and had a neg. reaction who would be responsible? from dayton ohio by ron
Comment: I had a flu shot this year and have missed more work, because of illness, this year than last year when I did not take a flu shot. by Debbie
