Miracle Man Thanks Medics For Saving Life

MIAMI TOWNSHIP -- A 37-year-old Miami Township man is lucky to be alive, after his heart stopped beating for 45-minutes.

"I went to bed Sunday night and woke up five days later in the hospital," said Tony Yahle, "Miracle Man."

His wife, Melissa, woke up in the middle of the night to her husband breathing irregularly.

"Tried to wake him up he would not wake up, checked his pulse he didn't have a pulse," said Melissa Yahle.

Being a nurse, she immediately started CPR, and had her son call 911.

When paramedics arrived, they had to shock Tony with a defibrillator four times.

"We
got a rhythm back for like 20 seconds maybe," said Chad Gemin,
paramedic and firefighter, "And a faint pulse but them it went right
back to the way it was."

"I believe all those people were in
place but I also believe that God's hand was on it and put the right
people in that place," said Melissa.

The four person crew, loaded Tony in the back of the medic and rushed him to the hospital.

Even after meeting Tony, the medics are still amazed he's alive.

"To
see someone survive something that nine times out of ten is not
survivable is pretty cool," said Chris Kyer, paramedic and firefighter.

And while it changed their lives, Tony and his family's will never be the same.

"Our faith is definitely stronger, I'll say that," said Tony, "We don't take much time for granted anymore."

"You
hear the saying, never take a moment for granted," said Melissa, "You
don't realize what you have until it's gone, and that is absolutely
true."

The medics say that because Melissa knew and started CPR, it played a major role in his survival.

They also say it's just another reason to learn CPR, because it can mean the difference between life and death.Miracle Man Thanks Medics For Saving Life
