The 2014 midterm election is just over a month away.  The candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor will square off on key issues affecting the state and nation in two debates we will carry this week.

Both debates are produced by KLRU and the Texas Tribune and made available to KFDM and KBTV Fox 4 by the Texas Association of Broadcasters.

The first of the next two debates this week will be between the Lt. Governor candidates:  Texas State Senator Dan Patrick and Texas State Senator Leticia R. Van De Putte. This is the only debate scheduled for this election between the two.  It will last one hour.

In the second debate this week Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott and Texas State Senator Wendy Davis will be on the debate stage Sept. 30, 2014 at 8 p.m. for a one hour debate.

KFDM and KBTV FOX 4 will stream all of both debates on each website live online.

We encourage you to Tweet your comments and thoughts about the debate and the candidates to us at @kfdmnewsand  at @fox4beaumont and with the hashtag #TexasDebates2014.
